  • Overview
3DM2282A is the company's new digital stepping motor driver, using the latest 32-bit DSP digital processing technology, the driver control algorithm using advanced variable current technology and advanced frequency conversion technology, the driver heat is small, the motor vibration is small, and the operation is smooth. Users can set the subdivision within 200~51200 and any current value within the rated current, which can meet the application needs of most occasions. Due to the built-in micro subdivision technology, even in low-speed conditions, but also to achieve good operating results, low, medium and high speed operation are very smooth, ultra-low noise. The drive integrates the function of automatic parameter adjustment, which can automatically generate the optimal operating parameters for different motors and maximize the performance of the motor.

    Control signal wiring instructions

    Function Symbolic Mean Note
Pulse Signal PUL+ Start/stop signal positive When PUL is at high level, it ranges from 4.5 to 28VDC; when at low level, it ranges from 0 to 0.5V.
    PUL- Start/stop signal negative
Direction Signal DIR+ Direction signal positive When DIR is at high level, it ranges from 4.5 to 28VDC; when at low level, it ranges from 0 to 0.5V.
    DIR- Direction signal negative
Enable Signal ENA+ Enable signal positive This input signal is used to enable or disable the driver. When ENA+ is connected to4.5 to 28VDC and ENA- is at low level (or the internal optocoupler is on), the driver will cut off the current to the motor phases, putting the motor into a free state. At this point, step pulses will not be responded to. When this function is not needed, the enable signal terminal can be left floating.

    Current and microstepping configuration

The driver uses an8-bit DIP switch to set subdivision accuracy, dynamic current, and static half-current, as well as to perform self-tuning of motor parameters and internal adjustment parameters. The detailed description is as follows:

    Current Settings
    SW1 SW2 SW3 SW4

    Subdivision Settings
    SW5 SW6 SW7 SW8

    Operating (Dynamic) Current Setting

Output peak current Output average current SW1 SW2 SW3 Current self-tuning
Default[2.0A] ON ON ON When SW1, SW2, and SW3 are set to off off off, the current can be set to the desired value through PC software, with a maximum value of 7.20A and a resolution of 0.1A. If not set, the default current will be 2.0A.
    3.08A 2.57A OFF ON ON
    3.77A 3.14A ON OFF ON
    4.45A 3.71A OFF OFF ON
    5.14A 4.28A ON ON OFF
    5.83A 4.86A OFF ON OFF
    6.52A 5.43A ON OFF OFF
    7.20A 6.00A OFF OFF OFF

    Static (Standby) Current Setting
The static current can be set using the SW4 DIP switch. Off means the static current is set to half of the dynamic current, while on means the static current is the same as the dynamic current. It is generally recommended to set SW4 to off to reduce heat generation in the motor and driver, improving reliability.

    Subdivision Settings

    Steps/Rev SW5 SW6 SW7 SW8 Subdivision Explanation
400 ON ON ON ON When SW5, SW6, SW7, and SW8 are all set to on, the driver uses the internal default subdivision count. The user can set the subdivision count through PC software, with a minimum value of200, a resolution of l, and a maximum value of 51200.

    Driver status LED indicator
The green LED serves as the power indicator; it remains on when the driver is powered and turns off when the power is disconnected. The red LED acts as the fault indicator; it blinks cyclically every 3 seconds when a fault occurs. Once the user clears the fault, the red LED stays off. The number of times the red LED blinks within 3 seconds represents different fault messages, as detailed in the following table:

NO. Number of flashing Red LED flashing waveform Fault description
1 1 Overcurrent or interphase short circuit fault
    2 2 Overvoltage fault
    3 3 Undervoltage
    4 9 Operational amplifier fault
